nettletontribe are pleased to announce that Greengate’s ‘St Luke’s Green’ is the winner of the ‘Award for Design Excellence’ at this years Property Council National Retirement Living Awards 2017. Designed by Greengate Design, the project comprises 61 independent living units and a 51 bed Residential Aged Care Facility. nettletontribe are proud to be involved with Greengate on the design and delivery of this award winning project.
The St Luke’s project and design has always been influenced around creating a stronger community and social connectedness of its residents.
With this in mind the project included the revitalization of the existing St.Luke’s Catholic Church, which forms the catalyst for the aged care community mixing with the local community. The design reinforces the church’s importance for the residents and community by being centrally located with the Aged Care wrapping around it on 3 sides. The project also allows the public to utilize a cross-block linkage through the site emphasizing a welcomeness for the community to connect with the surrounding residents.
Also Aveo’s ‘The Clayfield Sellwood’ was shortlisted in these National Retirement Living Awards. nettletontribe worked closely with Aveo to provide their vision in design and delivery of this exceptional project.
The project is located at 469 Sandgate Road, Albion in Brisbane at the existing seniors village. The project consists of a seniors living residential building of 5 storeys with 65 seniors living residential units and 65 car parks. The Retirement Living apartments is a village connected by a large light filled central atrium space that acts as a central circulation device and provides the opportunity to meet with other community members. The buildings contemporary aesthetic draws upon the heritage character of the site in its textural and material qualities.
