Working with Cromwell Property Group, the end of trip (EOT) refurbishment for 540 Wickham Street in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, creates a dynamic space that provides a range of offerings for joggers, cyclists, or gym goers after their daily commute and lunch-time work outs.
Upgrading the facility from its original utilitarian finishes and a layout that was under resourced for its increase in tenant interest and usage, the design maximises locker numbers and upgrades the facilities to an ‘A’ grade standard with a space that reflects the culture of its city fringe location.
Pushing boundaries of traditional workplace changeroom amenities, the space is reconfigured to incorporate generous leather upholstered seating zones central to the locker space and highlighted by clustered brass pendant lights. considered use of colour creates unique and individual indentities to each of the locker spaces whilst the inclusion of themed artwork references the athletic nature of the facility. Design choices were intentional and aimed to create an experience for the user, not just the amenities required to move them through the facility.
The upgrade reflects the growing trend for high end EOT facilities, providing a point of difference within a competitive leasing market and encouraging tenants to achieve new levels of health and wellbeing.
