Located in Walsh Bay amongst Sydney’s art and culture precinct, boutique commercial developments and heritage listed cottages, Bond One is a unique asset.
nettletontribe were engaged by AMP Capital to reposition this A grade commercial building and help our client maintain their anchor tenants by improving the amenities on offering within the building. The concept design delicately combines the references of the surrounding maritime heritage and indigenous significance.
nettletontribe’s brief was to upgrade the buildings two lobbies, café meeting space, base building toilets and provide a new end of trip facility in the basement.
In the main entry lobby on Windmill St, mindful of the budget and extent of the scope, nettletontribe utilised the existing flooring and ceiling treatments. We incorporated new dividing frames which divided the café space into 3 district areas; a lounge, standing touch down and more traditional café seating to the rear of the lobby. Tying the space together with a complementary material palette that blends blackbutt timbers, brown leather, black painted timber and colourful accent cushions which link to the existing indigenous graphics present in the lobby.
As part of the amenity upgrade all the base building bathrooms were refreshed. Continuing the contemporary materials selection of black, white and warm timbers laminates into the bathrooms and the new end of trip facility was a natural progression.
