Deakin University, Burwood

1 / 6

The facade of Deakin University’s Burwood Campus employs an interplay of black and white to add shape and dimension. Reinforcing the structural identity of the building are coloured vertical louvres which provide shade and unique points of interest.

Inside the campus, bright and colourful foyers act in contrast to the monochromatic colour scheme outside. These light filled foyers open up to generous indoor spaces with coloured glass cubes looking down from the floors above.

Administrative, recreational and resident services spaces continue the exploration of colour, creating a relaxed yet lively environment. Generous recreational spaces provide students with opportunities to socialise and interact both indoors and outdoors, with connections straight out onto practical outdoor recreational spaces.

This first stage of new student accommodation facilities at Deakin University’s Burwood Campus provides quality student housing with 401 beds and 148sqm of retail space as well as parking for 47 cars.
