Histopathology Laboratory

12 years since the completion of the main build, nettletontribe have returned to design a 1,600sqm laboratory fitout spanning across 2 levels to support the expansion of the Histopathology service at Douglass Hanly Moir.

The laboratory is designed to improve the workflow through the specimen testing process. Together with the laboratory technicians, a strong understanding of each process resulted in the design of an improved and efficient workstation. The space stretches across the span of the building and has been designed to maximise natural daylight and continuous visibility across the laboratory.

This project is a testament to one of Sonic Healthcare’s core values around continuous improvement. The need for a larger laboratory has given an opportunity to update the workspace for over 250 staff.
