Lifestyle Working, Collins Street

1 / 7

Lifestyle Working, Collins Street combines creative planning with community responsibility, commercial functionality and environmental sustainability. The development accommodates 137 individual commercial suites plus retail spaces and aims to set a new benchmark in affordable, sustainable office space. Advanced voice and data technologies combined with a substantial solar generation facility distinguishes it from other developments of this kind.

A variety of circulation spaces and a combination of occasional and formal meeting points are designed to generate activity and a sense of vibrancy.  Individual suites are arranged inside two rectangular forms connected by a central street. The long axis of each block is oriented north/south to manage solar gain and maximise natural daylight. The central atrium is partially open to the elements to bring natural light and ventilation to the arrival experience.  Additional sustainable design components include rain water harvesting, passive energy solutions and individualised control options.

The building is designed to reinforce the character of industrial surroundings in a heritage precinct through the use of metal sheeting, block work, steel, glass and concrete.
