Located within Freshwater town centre, our client IPM approached nettletontribe to transform the existing site into a mixed use development of retail and living spaces. Our vision creates architecture which responds to its context, topography and local culture. An interplay between beach culture and contemporary urban living and amenity.
Key drivers were to combine the beauty and openness of the beach lifestyle balanced with provisions for privacy and sense of space for living. The façade and fenestration design makes considered use of full height glass to maximise amenity and optimise balance between privacy and solar control.
Oceans is inspired by its location, adopting details from the sea and sand to form the base of the two schemes – seaboard and driftwood. The two distinct schemes are signified through a playful use of texture and silky finishes. The main feature of the open plan living space is the classic kitchen island. An ode to the locale of where ‘sea meets land’, the seamless fluting detail mimics the ripples in the sand and ripples in the water. It is a modern and elegant feature. The brushed brass trim on the kitchen back wall and island bench gives a touch of bespoke luxury to the apartment interiors.
