Parklands, Roma St
Roma Street Parklands stands as a landmark 400-unit residential development of five distinctive buildings, set on the western edge of the Brisbane CBD. Linking seamlessly with the meticulously landscaped parkland precinct, the buildings weave in and out of the public space, forming a sense of community and belonging.
Cohesion with the natural environment is evident in the design function of indoor/outdoor spaces, allowing each of the five buildings to take advantage of the parkland environment. Each building provides a unique vantage point of the idyllic surrounds with sweeping views over the city skyline.
Collectively the buildings enclose the western edge of the parkland precinct and are brought together by Botanica, the 350m sculptural works of artists Barbara Heath and Matt Tobin. The piece epitomises art meeting function, as it doubles an acoustic barrier and carpark screen.
