The Good Design for Housing NSW Map
In addition to being featured on the map, nettletontribe was also invited to participate in the Talking Homes monthly virtual talk series. This series brings together a diverse audience including planners, designers, project managers, engineers, and policymakers from various government departments involved in housing. Talking Homes focuses on the topic of housing and aims to share innovative ideas that collectively address the challenges of housing delivery across NSW.
nettletontribe was particularly excited to present our Urbain Residences project during this series, where we had the opportunity to contribute to the conversation about creating sustainable and well-designed housing solutions.

It is widely acknowledged that well-designed low-rise and mid-rise housing projects significantly enhance the character and streetscape of neighbourhoods. These projects are meticulously planned to seamlessly integrate into their surroundings, taking into account elements such as scale, density, and contextual suitability. Moreover, they place a strong emphasis on providing amenities, respecting neighbours, and ensuring privacy, often incorporating thoughtfully designed landscape spaces to nurture a thriving tree canopy.
The importance of offering a diverse range of housing options has become increasingly apparent as people’s lifestyles continue to evolve. There is a clear gap to be filled between traditional stand-alone homes and high-rise apartments, and addressing this need is crucial. By introducing a greater variety of low-rise and mid-rise housing options, a balance can be achieved between preserving the distinctive character and value of existing neighbourhoods while meeting the evolving needs of the community.
The showcased projects within this map not only make positive contributions to their respective areas, but also serve as valuable sources of inspiration for future housing endeavours. We invite you to explore The Good Design for Housing map, where you can discover these exceptional projects and gain insights that will shape the future of housing in New South Wales.
