Altura West Village

From an iconic ice cream factory to now one of Brisbane’s well-known precincts, Stage 7A of the West Village masterplan comprises a 22-storey multi-residential tower in the heart of West End.

A monumental stage of the West Village masterplan

Redefining urban living, Altura emphasises environmental consciousness whilst enhancing the everyday lifestyles of residences through comfort and a multi-sensory approach. Our design responds to the client, Sekisui House’s, core philosophy that ‘thoughtful design can improve quality of life and wellbeing’ by creating sustainable and authentic living environments.

One of the underpinning design principles across the West Village masterplan is the integration of the built form with the natural environment, which has a positive flow-on effect on our health and well-being.

An urban revitalisation Taking over from Smart Design Studio (Original Concept Design Architects), nettletontribe is proud to deliver this urban revitalisation including, detailed design, documentation, and delivery of Altura. Altura embodies this principle by incorporating greenery vertically up the building, benefiting not only the residences and balcony environments but also the surrounding buildings in the broader West Village community.

A connection to the natural environment

The design of the balconies and the façade were key to delivering a quality space for each residence that achieved outlook and connection to the natural environment, including access to natural light and ventilation. The building’s mosaic façade plays on differing volumes and planting to form an iconic landmark on the site. Residents are treated to a stunning infinity pool, private cabanas, and a spacious entertainment area overlooking the panoramic views of the city skyline, river, and mountains on the rooftop. Working together with Carr and RPS, nettletontribe has created an entirely new experience of living, continuing West Village’s evolution of urban revitalisation.
