The brief was to transform the existing entry lobby into a warm and welcoming space for tenants and their visitors while elevating the experience to align with the building’s premium location and offerings.

Transforming spaces: crafting a warm and welcoming lobby to reflect a building's premium status

Our design embraced key original materials of high quality such as the polished granite wall cladding and bluestone flooring which have proven to have stood the test of time. To contrast the stone backdrop, we introduced a low height timber wall to contain new furniture settings along with a new timber ceiling treatment, both bringing warmth to the space. Taking cues from the refined simplicity of the building’s architectural style, we carefully maintained fine clean lines and linear forms to any new element to bring harmony between the exterior and interior.  The wide horizontal textured panels on the rear wall, for example, reflect the repetitive shape of the balconies rising up the 12 storey building while the new timber ceiling mimics the lines of the raked concrete soffits above each balcony.

New lighting throughout, intimate lounge settings and a casual high table with power has added functionality by accommodating informal meetings and provided an additional place to work. A digital screen has been installed to display calming scenes of nature or curated digital artworks. The existing lift cars were also part of our design scope and now reflect the premium nature of the building and its new lobby.
