MID Approval Secured for The Wesley Hospital’s New Health Precinct

nettletontribe is delighted to announce that plans for a new 10-storey health precinct, directly connected to The Wesley Hospital in Brisbane, have officially received approval from the Queensland Government. This significant milestone paves the way for a state-of-the-art medical facility designed to meet the increasing healthcare needs of Queensland’s local and regional communities.

Designed with a focus on advancing treatment

Positioned on a 3,427-square-metre site at 25–27 Chasely Street and 6 Lima Street, the development will feature flexible spaces to support a diverse range of health services. A pedestrian bridge will seamlessly link the new facility to the wider hospital campus, enabling integrated care and enhanced connectivity for patients, families, and medical staff.

UnitingCare Queensland’s vision for the precinct is to deliver Brisbane’s largest private comprehensive cancer centre. Designed with a focus on advancing treatment through collaboration, research, and innovation, the facility will house a new day surgery centre, advanced radiology services, radiation oncology bunkers, and dedicated cancer care facilities.

The development represents a new clinical destination and the future of healthcare in Brisbane. Just 2km from the CBD, the building is set to become the new front door to The Wesley Hospital, offering patients cutting-edge treatments in a space tailored to modern medical needs. With purpose-built end-of-trip facilities, a mix of flexible health service spaces, and a strong connection to the hospital campus, the project reinforces The Wesley’s commitment to delivering world-class care in an accessible urban location.

This approval marks an exciting chapter for The Wesley Hospital, UnitingCare Queensland, and Fluent acting as the project assembler and development advisors. nettletontribe looks forward to delivering architectural solutions that shape the future of healthcare infrastructure.
