Queensland’s largest modular construction project underway in Cairns
Modern Methods of Construction
The delivery of the modular units is well underway, with construction of the buildings commencing at 710–714 Des Chalmers Drive, Woree.
This social and affordable housing project is one of the largest projects to be delivered using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). In collaboration with Tetris Capital, Community Housing Limited, the Queensland Government, FCC Construction and Modscape, the project will deliver 490 new homes tailored to the needs of seniors and individuals living with disability. The development comprises 245 social, 223 affordable, and 22 specialist disability apartments, all nestled in a thoughtfully landscaped, master-planned community.
Accessibility, sustainability and community wellbeing.
The project prioritises accessibility, sustainability, and community wellbeing. Residents will benefit from green communal spaces, energy-efficient dwellings, and proximity to essential services, including transport links, shops, and health facilities.
Construction is delivering a blueprint for future social and affordable infrastructure across Australia.
